A Risk Management Approach for Software Product Line Engineering

Software Product Line (SPL) Engineering is a software development paradigm that fosters systematic reuse. It is focused on improving software practices, leading companies to experience benefits, such as reduced time-to-market and effort, and higher quality for the products delivered to customers. However, establishing a SPL is neither a simple nor a cheap task, and may affect several aspects of a software company. Besides, it involves a range of risks that may hinder project success. These have to be managed accordingly, so as to minimize the likelihood of project failure. Despite the importance of Risk Management (RM) for SPL Engineering, little has been published in terms of suitable and structured practices to cope with that. This present paper reports an approach for RM in SPL Engineering, named RiPLERM (Rise Product Line Engineering – Risk Management). The approach presents activities to structure RM in SPL projects, The design of the RiPLE-RM approach elaborated on results from empirical investigations, and was proposed to facilitate the management and provide significant insights that can be used to avoid and solve risks

An Approach to Manage Evaluations Using an Interactive Board Game: The Ludo Educational Atlantis

The use of digital games for educational support can motivate students, but this use should be well exploited for pedagogical success, behaving as allies in the conventional process, addressing the concepts seen in the classroom. Thus, this paper presents considerations and results on the creation and testing of Ludo Educational Atlantis, which is an educational digital game system, in which students of elementary school can participate in an electronic board game. It challenges are presented in the form of questions and answers defined by a responsible teacher who can monitor the results of their students. For initial validation, the game was used in a State School of São Carlos-SP, in a Science discipline, being reported in this paper the considerations and results from this experience

ABORDAGENS PARA DESENVOLVIMENTO DE APLICATIVOS MÓVEIS PARA GESTAO DA EDUCAÇÃO: revisão integrativa

Resumo: O objetivo do presente estudo é sistematizar o conhecimento das principais abordagens utilizadas para o desenvolvimento de aplicativos móveis para gestão da educação, utilizando como método uma revisão integrativa da literatura de estudos publicados nas bases de dados Scielo, ACM DL e IEEE Xplore, no período de 2014 a 2019. Através desse foram selecionados para análise 337 artigos. Como resultados foram identificadas as principais abordagens para desenvolvimento de aplicativos móveis na área de gestão da educação descritos nos artigos foram: abordagens para desenvolvimento nativo, Web e híbrida, concluindo-se um significativo aumento no número de aplicativos para dispositivos móveis desenvolvidos utilizando abordagem híbrida em detrimento da abordagem nativa. Palavras-Chave: Aplicativos móveis. Avaliação dos mecanismos de Privacidade e Personalização na Web

In web services two points should be considered that end up conflicting: i) the user's right to have his privacy guaranteed and ii) the need of having the services personalized, providing a better user interaction on the Internet. The user's information, with regard to privacy, should be maintained in secrecy, so that the person in question would not feel threatened when using the service. When thinking about personalization, the information should be known and filtered, in a way that makes it possible to discover the most relevant information, so that, together with personalization techniques, they can be used by the sites. This work presents the steps taken for the development of a tool, PrivPerson , capable to analyzing the privacy and personalization mechanisms, being: tools, sites and use sceneries in a way that quantify/measure how much privacy and personalization they offer for the users. For such measurements, a base the taxonomies of classification of privacy and personalization was used, developed in this work and imposed in layers, in a way that it is possible to quantify the privacy and personalization level of offered to the user by the observation of which layers the mechanism meditates. The mechanisms analysis for the proposed tool had the goals to supply the users quantitative values that aid the user in the context of use services. Apart from the above, a Case Study was developed with the objective of identifying the use of the taxonomies on sites, and to compare the manual evaluation on the sites, done in the Case Study, with the automated evaluation found in PrivPerson . With base in this study, it was observed that the sites doesn't have a standardization in the development of their Privacy Politics, based on this, a standardization was developed for such politics, approaching information that are relevant be introduced to the users by the sites.Financiadora de Estudos e ProjetosNos serviços da web devem ser considerados dois pontos que acabam se conflitando: i) o direito do usuário em ter sua privacidade garantida, e ii) a necessidade do mesmo em ter serviços personalizados, provendo melhor interação do usuário na Internet. As informações dos usuários, quando se tratando de privacidade, devem ser mantidas em sigilo, de forma que os mesmos não se sintam ameaçados ao utilizarem os serviços da web. Quando pensando em personalização, as informações devem ser conhecidas e filtradas, recuperando as mais relevantes para então, em conjunto com técnicas de personalização, serem utilizadas pelos sites. Este trabalho apresenta os passos seguidos para o desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta, chamada PrivPerson , capaz de analisar os mecanismos de privacidade e personalização existentes, sendo esses: ferramentas, sites e cenários de utilização, de forma a quantificar o nível de privacidade e personalização oferecido aos usuários. Para tal mensuração, utilizou-se como base as taxonomias de classificação de privacidade e personalização, desenvolvidas neste trabalho. Estas são impostas em camadas, de modo que, a partir da observação de quais camadas o mecanismo contempla tornou-se possível quantificar o nível de privacidade e personalização oferecido. A análise de mecanismos pela ferramenta desenvolvida, objetivou fornecer aos usuários valores quantitativos que os auxiliem em seu contexto de utilização de serviços. Apresenta-se também neste trabalho, um Estudo de Caso, desenvolvido com o objetivo de identificar a utilização das taxonomias em sites, e ainda assim, comparar a avaliação manual, feita no Estudo de Caso, com a avaliação automatizada, feita através da PrivPerson . Com base nesse estudo, observou-se que os sites, de maneira geral, não seguem uma padronização no desenvolvimento de suas Políticas de Privacidade. Baseado nisto, foi desenvolvida uma padronização para tais políticas, abordando informações que são relevantes serem apresentadas aos usuários pelos sites

The importance of documentation, design and reuse in risk management for SPL

Software Product Lines (SPL) is a methodology focusing on systematic software reuse, multiple benefits have been reported as a result of this type of software development. However, establishing a SPL is not a simple task. It is a challenging activity raising many challenges for engineering and management. This research aims to manage the risks during SPL development to provide traceability among them. For this, it is important that the risks are documented and there is a common design related to them.
